September Floor Lamp is the first work in an upcoming collection entitled "The Persistence of Nature". This latest collection is an extension of the artist's thesis on climate change. Whereas earlier work has embodied melting glaciers and forlorn landscapes plagued by floods and fires as the world reaches its climactic breaking point, this new work celebrates how mother nature will survive us and take back its rightful place in the ecosystem through brute force. The Persistence of Nature is a surrealist interpretation of nature colliding with itself to find new harmony and to reveal itself in ways we have never experienced before. September Floor Lamp is composed of hand-dyed sand and silica with brass elements and a powdered glass light fixture.
